Mariyam Inasha

Mariyam Inasha graduated with a Bachelor of Shari’ah and Law with Honours from the Maldives National University. In 2022, She was awarded Chevening Scholarship to pursue Master of Laws in Commercial and Corporate Law in Queen Mary University of London. She worked as a legal extern at Biodiversify UK from 2022 to 2023 where she assisted on legal matters and contributed to research on making a legal database. She also volunteered and assisted solicitors at DENTONS law firm’s PopLaw Legal Advice Clinics in London.

Inasha has license to practice law in the Maldives granted by the Supreme Court of the Maldives in 2016 and license to act as a Public Notary granted by the Bar Council of the Maldives in 2020. She is also a co-founder and board member of Public Interest Law Centre that provides pro bono legal service to socially and economically marginalized groups and individuals.

Prior to working at Shunana and Co. LLP, Uza. Inasha was a partner at Advocacy Chambers LLP for four years. She has been working as a part-time in-house lawyer for Chicano Investment Pvt Ltd since 2019 to present. She is well experienced in commercial and corporate legal matters. She worked as a full time Legal Consultant at Public Interest Law Centre (PILC) for two years contributing to overall management of the organisation. She also litigated in lawsuits including class action lawsuits in employment and public interest issues and facilitated in public legal awareness sessions. Inasha also filled the role of a volunteer lawyer at Tourism Employees Association of Maldives (TEAM) from 2016 to 2020 representing workers at Employment Tribunal on various workers’ rights issues.

Inasha has experience of more than 8 years as a practicing lawyer and has profound experience in Employment, Family, Land law and Public Interest law issues. She comes from a solid commercial background and can be relied upon to always give expert legal advice in a way which ensures that a client’s competitive advantage is maintained. During her career, she had wide exposure to a broad range of complex legal matters. In her current role she provides the highest quality services to corporate entities and guards the entities against any legal risks. She is very resourceful with the ability to assess all issues to adequately protect clients and complete projects producing professional results while adhering to rigid deadlines.
