Saadhih Naseer

Saadhih Naseer holds a law degree from the Maldives National University. After completing his bachelor's degree, he started working at the Attorney General’s Office, and is currently a Senior State Attorney at the Attorney General’s Office. At the Attorney General’s Office, he has litigated on behalf of the Government of Maldives in numerous high-profile commercial, employment and civil cases lodged by and against Government ministries and departments at the Employment Tribunal, Magistrate Courts, Civil Court, High Court and Supreme Court of Maldives.

Saadhih has also provided legal opinion to various government ministries and departments on complex matters involving commercial contracts of government, constitutional issues and other civil matters. He has also worked in vetting regulations and bills prior to its ratification by the President. Furthermore, he has provided legal opinions to Government Minsters, Ministries and departments on contracts, international conventions, and bilateral and multilateral agreements by the Government of Maldives.

Saadhih is well-known for his litigation and arduous drafting skills as well as his exceptional analytical skills. While his excellent drafting skills allow him to draft his legal work in a manner which is easy to understand, his skills in litigation allows him to explain complex legal matters in a clear informative manner. Additionally, Saadhih has been involved in private practice since 2016. As such, he has represented various clients, including foreign parties as well as local parties and has successfully negotiated settlements and represented both local companies and international clients at various courts of the Maldives. His also has experience in sale of resorts and other businesses. His expertise mainly focuses on transactional and litigation of corporate, commercial, land and employment law issues.

Since the foundation of Public Interest Law Centre in 2019, Saadhih has continued to serve as an executive committee member of PILC and has contributed a lot to the Pro Bono work of PILC. Currently, Saadhih is also an executive committee member of the Bar Council of Maldives.
